Ronald S. Kvitne, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing
in sports medicine and the treatment of shoulders, elbows, and knees.
He earned his medical doctorate at the University of California, San Francisco
before going on to his surgical internship and residency at Northwestern
University Medical Center in Chicago. After his residency, Dr. Kvitne
completed his sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic,
a founding partner of the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute. Dr. Kvitne
is an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Kvitne is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and
is a regular contributor to medical research and education, having authored
31 publications and 6 book chapters and facilitated 34 lectures. He is
a member of a number of medical societies, including the American Medical
Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American
Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Society for
Sports Medicine. Dr. Kvitne is a qualified medical examiner and a Diplomate
of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Kvitne is the team physician of the world champion Los Angeles Kings
and the Los Angeles Blades, and is an Associate Orthopaedic Consultant
