Stephen G. Owens, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing
in shoulder and knee disorders, sports injuries and arthritis. His practice
emphasizes arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, ligament reconstruction,
joint replacement and cartilage restoration. He received his undergraduate
degree in kinesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles and
went on to attend Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood,
Illinois where he graduated cum laude as a doctor of medicine in 1994.
He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the
University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in 1999 where
he served as chief resident and was the Herman Epstein Alumni Award recipient
recognizing outstanding clinical and teaching skills and ethical conduct.
He then went on to complete his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine
at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles,
California in 2000, and has published several scientific and review articles.
Dr. Owens is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is
an associate professor at the University of Southern California as volunteer
faculty, and served as adjunct assistant professor in orthopaedic surgery
for Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been
selected as a Top Doctor by the Pasadena Magazine, and best orthopaedist
by the Glendale News Press in 2014.
Dr. Owens serves as team physician for high school teams within the Southern
California Pacific League, as well as Glendale Community College.
