Physician Bio

Carlos A. Uquillas, MD is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric sports medicine, joint preservation, pediatric orthopaedics, and fracture care.

Dr. Uquillas is a team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has been an orthopaedic consultant to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Sparks and Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Uquillas has also been a consultant for a variety of other professional and collegiate athletics.

Dr. Uquillas completed medical school at Stanford University School of Medicine where he had a scholarly concentration in clinical research and received an award for Outstanding Graduate Mentor. He completed his residency at the prestigious Hospital for Joint Diseases at New York University-Langone Medical Center where he received the Kaufman Award for Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Research. Dr. Uquillas completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, a founding partner of the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, and a Pediatric Orthopaedic fellowship at Children’s Hospital- Los Angeles. He had an academic appointment as clinical instructor at the Keck School of Medicine/USC and then he returned to join Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.

At Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, Dr. Uquillas has remained active in research and has published several scientific articles. Dr. Uquillas is involved in the training of sports medicine fellows and orthopaedic residents and is committed to providing the highest quality orthopaedic care for his patients.
